What
do I get for my franchise fee and royalties?
You will receive:
• Use of the Taco John’s brand name, systems,
logo, and store design.
• A comprehensive Taco John’s Management
Training Program designed to prepare you for daily operation of a Taco
John’s Restaurant. Travel & lodging expenses are not included
in the fee.
•
Site Selection Support.
• Construction & design support. Conceptual
floor plans and site plans are provided. These must be sealed by an approved
architect before submitting them to local government entities.
• Franchise development support and a step-by-step
guide through the process of new-store layout, ordering of equipment,
furniture, and fixtures.
• Support and training assistance in pre-opening
and opening.
• Ongoing support from: Taco John’s Franchise
Business Consultants, the Taco John’s Research & Development
Department, Purchasing & Distribution Department, and marketing support
and assistance for local store and media marketing.
 
What
type of experience do I need to run a Taco John’s Restaurant?
Any prior experience in business management is helpful.
Knowledge of food service is also very helpful. We can teach you the Taco
John’s food business, but the most important assets are organizational
skills, people skills, work ethic, enthusiasm, and adherence to the systems,
standards, and specifications of Taco John’s.

What
is the monthly Royalty Fee?
Four percent (4%) of Net Sales.

What
is the monthly Advertising & Marketing Fee?
Currently, a minimum of three percent (3%) of Net Sales is required
for media advertising and a mandatory contribution of one-half
of one percent (.5%) of Net Sales to the Advertising Production Fund.
"Net Sales" are the total receipts from all
sales of the restaurant, but do not include sales tax or equivalent taxes.

How
long does it take to open a Taco John’s Restaurant?
From the date the Franchise Agreement is signed, it takes
approximately six to nine months. But that is subject to availability
of land, local permits and licenses, weather and other local conditions.

How
do I receive my food products and supplies?
Taco John’s International, Inc. has negotiated with numerous national
suppliers on behalf of our Franchisees to get good quality, service, and
competitive purchase prices.

How
will I handle my accounting and reporting needs?
Taco John’s International, Inc. will supply you
with the necessary information and/or required formats for setting up
your accounting systems, preparing your financial statements, and submitting
timely reports. You will probably want to retain an accountant/bookkeeper
to assist you.

What
financial requirements do I personally need to meet?
To open a Taco John’s franchise, the following financial
requirements must be met:
• Net worth $400,000 • Liquid assets $150,000

What
training does the Franchisee(s) and Management Team need?
We
prefer that our franchisees are hands-on and highly involved in their
new business. We require both the franchisee and management to successfully
complete our training program. This includes four weeks of intense training
at our Cheyenne Franchise Support Center and at one of our training restaurants.
Each location must have at least two certified managers.

What
makes Taco John’s different?
We are a
privately owned franchisor, and all but a few of the restaurants in the
chain are licensed by independent franchisees. Our food sets us apart
based on our larger portion sizes, variety, authenticity and fresh preparation.
